I made the transcript of the interview :
Victoria : “We are so excited about America. We want to embrace the culture with open arms. This is a huge move for us, for our children. You know, David takes his career very seriously. This is a big, big deal for us.”
Matt Lauer : "When you guys are in London .. "
Victoria : "Yeah."
Matt Lauer : ".. you can go no where .. "
Victoria : "ehmm."
Matt Lauer : " .. without been followed by the press, the paparazzi. You are one of the most photographed and talked about couples in Europe and as a result in the world. How do you think the attention level is going to change here in the United States?'
Victoria : "I think .. em .. I mean no that there is so many people know who we are here you know em .. it might be a bit crazy when we first get here because we're new but then I think people will probably realize you know .. I'm actually quit boring"
Matt Lauer : "And you think that going to Los Angeles is in some way will help delued the paparazzi interest cuz there is so many other targets?"
Victoria : "I think so .. I mean I think everyone else sees our lives probably .. I wouldn't say more interesting .. We have a great life, but we are relatively private, you know? And there are so many really famous people in L.A. I mean, we always joke about it and say, You know, you got Brad Pitt, you got Angelina Jolie, you got Tom, you got Katie. I mean, we’ll just be Victoria and David.”
(In Central Park)
Mat Lauer : "I was wondering if coming to this country, you're gonna find some peace from the press .. "
Victoria : "Yeah."
Matt Lauer : " .. and we just turned out and I mean see that you've been here now three minutes .. And is this what life is gonna be like for you in this country?"
Victoria : "We should all smile cuz you are about to be on television."
Matt Lauer : "Right"
Victoria : "em"
Matt Lauer : "How do you ever get used to them, they're not here for me so how you ever get used to them?"
Victoria : "Oh yes they are."
Matt Lauer : "Oh no they aren't.
Victoria : "eem .. I just .. I get along with it you know .. When I'm on my own, it doesn't bother me at all, when I'm with David .. like I said the only cheeky thing is when the children around sometimes cuz we like to keep them a little bit more private you know."
Matt Lauer : "Right.
ML : "I’ve seen a lot of photographs of you and I think : 'I wonder if she’s in a good mood?'"
Victoria : "Yeah. I know .. I think that too.
Matt Lauer : "They are giggling on the back ground.
Victoria : "Does everyone think that? I mean come on .. you can be honest with me, you can be honest."
Matt Lauer : "Sometimes you look .. Maybe it’s because you’re hounded by the paparazzi. I don’t know. But, sometimes you do look like a little bit like [I] woke up on the wrong side of the bed."
Victoria : "It’s always about the outfit."
Matt Lauer : (laughs)
Victoria : "You know. eem ya I think that you know at the end of the day there’s always a lot of press around. eem They select the pictures they want. They make you to look the way they want you to look."
Matt Lauer : "So you tell me just as many as pictures of you glowing and been happy with that kind of tough look in your face."
Victoria : "You know it’s an image. I think there are some people that would be quite devastated should I actually smile or look pleasant for that fact."
Matt Lauer : "I've been reading a little bit about you and you said that at home you are really down to earth, okay. So .. this this .. you don't have a nanny?"
Victoria : "I have .. I do have some help, I don't have a full time but I do have some help."
Matt Lauer : "Cleaning person?"
Victoria : "Ya I do have a cleaner .."
Matt Lauer : "Ok so you.."
Victoria : "that was a lie."
Matt Lauer : "That was a lie!!" (Both laughs)
Matt Lauer : "But you .."
Victoria : "They lie these tabloids."
Matt Lauer : "Also, I thought you said that?"
Victoria : "No .. I do, I do have a cleaner."
Matt Lauer : "OK. I was thinking, ..
Victoria : "Okay."
Matt Lauer : " .. and cleaning the toilet and stuff like that, can that happen?"
Victoria : "Every now and then, every now and then .. No .. I mean we are .."
Matt Lauer :"In a pinch."
Victoria : "Yeah exactly .. Yeah we do like to do a lot of things ourselfs. You know, we don't have a house full of staff, we do like to do a lot of things ourselfs. The kids make their own beds, then they pick their washing up putting it in the washing [..] if [..]none of it will get done and I think, it's important that children don't get too spoiled."
Matt Lauer : "Much have been made of your friendship with Katie, Katie ..
Victoria : "Yeah."
Matt Lauer : "Holmes .. What, what attracted to her in the first place?"
Victoria : "She’s a very strong, sweet, lovely girl. People often try and get me to say .. that you know that been so much made of the scientology, the this, the that, they are genuinely lovely people, wonderful family."
Matt Lauer : " .. So [..] when you guys are socialising, scientology is not an issue?"
Victoria : "No."
Matt Lauer : "It's just a friendship.
Victoria : "Yeah, I mean they do their thing, we do our thing."
Matt Lauer : "Well, welcome to America."
Victoria : "Thank you so much."
Matt Lauer : "I wish you peace and, and privacy."
Victoria : "Thank you so much."
Matt Lauer : "And I wish you'll get the later."
Victoria : "Thank you, thank you so much."
