Girl Power is back... and how! The Spice Girls thrilled fans with a sensational show - their first live performance as a band since splitting in 1998.
That's if you can call miming their way through two songs - old favourite Stop and their new single Headlines - a live performance.
Still, visually it was a triumph. And it must be pretty tricky balancing on a pair of sky-scraping Louboutins while also warbling in tune.
The lack of live vocals didn't spoil things for the 1,000 plus fans - including celebs Eva Longoria and Max Beesley - who watched the Girls at the Victoria's Secret fashion show in Hollywood's Kodak Theatre on Thursday.
But then 10 years on The Spice Girls are a whole new proposition.
Gone are the dodgy tracksuits and polyester frocks, to be replaced with couture outfits costing up to £20,000 a piece and made by Roberto Cavalli.
We watched their amazing comeback ahead of their appearance on last night's Children In Need.
Despite having seven kids between them, Posh, Ginger, Scary, Sporty and Baby looked toned to perfection as they strutted on in skin-tight army-style outfits.
Holding jewel-encrusted mics they launched into Stop as male dancers somersaulted around them.
When the song finished, the Spices squealed and hugged one another.
Their next set on the show, produced by Brit firm Done And Dusted, was even more eye-popping.
To a backdrop of chaises longues and chandeliers, the Girls sang Headlines wearing outfits that were the ultimate in glamour.
Afterwards Geri told us : "It was just like the old days - only better."
Posh said : "We couldn't believe the reaction. It's made us even more excited about the tour."
Their spokesman said: "The girls were never asked to sing live and the performance was recorded for a TV show. Rest assured the girls will be fully live for their first tour date on December 2." Phew! | |
