Wrapped-up Beckhams star on Broadway

Considering it was a family day out, there were few smiles as the Beckhams arrived on New York's famous Broadway theatre district with their sons to see a play.

A stern faced David carried son Cruz, and held nine-year old Brooklyn's hand while son Romeo, 6, walked hand in hand with mother Victoria.

The family were well wrapped up against the winter chill as they arrived at The Lunt Fontanne Theatre on Broadway to watch "Disney's The Little Mermaid" yesterday.

Brooklyn and Romeo protected themselves against the chill with Harry Potter-themed Hogwarts scarves and hats.

Maybe the Beckhams were upset that they couldn't exit their limo right outside the theatre, as there appeared to be serious roadworks happening in the area surrounding the famous theatre district.

Or perhaps they were less than impressed by the icy weather. New York City is currently suffering frozen temperatures with snow and ice on Manhattan's famous streets and sidewalks.

The group outing could be part of an early birthday celebration for son Cruz who is due to celebrate his third birthday later this week.

Their appearance in New York came after it was revealed the couple had renewed their vows in secret two years ago - and had matching tattoos as a permanent reminder of the occasion.

Beckham is credited with organising the intimate ceremony at their home Beckingham Palace himself, and reportedly only told a stunned Posh on the day.

Only a handful of friends and family were at the intimate ceremony in a marked contrast to the lavish nature of their first wedding nine years ago.

One friend said after the ceremony: "We were in tears. It was beautiful and very non-showbiz."
