SHOW-OFF POSH PUTS BECKS IN THE SHADE

THE proudest few hours of David Beckham’s life were dramatically overshadowed yesterday, thanks to his missus.

Becks is on the brink of crowning his glittering England career by winning his 100th cap.

But that did not stop pouting Posh, 33, stealing the show. She had onlookers drooling after parading around London in skin-tight leather trousers and red-soled stiletto heels. There was no way Becks, 32, could compete in his sober suit.

Victoria and their sons Brooklyn, nine, Romeo, five, and Cruz, three, will be at the Stade De France in Paris tonight to see England take on France in a friendly.

Yesterday David, 32, arrived at the Four Seasons Hotel in Paris as the team geared up for the match. But while all eyes should have been on him, Posh made sure they were firmly fixed on her over in London.

She flew in from Los Angeles sporting a pair of big black sunglasses. But it was not long before she ditched them for some Elvis-style gold-rimmed specs.

And as she pulled up outside the capital’s Ivy restaurant, the sight of her amazing backside squeezed into those spray-on trousers sent waiting cameramen crazy.

But while they were going wild over Posh, her husband’s 100th-cap comeback sparked a frenzy among gamblers.

Odds are being offered on everything from Becks playing the full 90 minutes to his scoring a hat-trick, and going on to reach 125 caps.

But Posh has even got in on the act at the bookies. Some are offering odds on how many times the Sky Sports cameras will pan over to her.

William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams said: “France are missing key players and punters have been keen to snap up the 2-1 price for an England victory.

“Beckham is all but certain to make all the headlines. We expect the 8-1 odds for him to score from a dead ball to be the most popular special.”

Other Becks flutters at William Hill include 5-4 that he will play the whole match, 5-1 that he will get booked and 50-1 to see a red-card. He is also a 6-1 shot to play in the 2010 World Cup, and 25-1 to win a total of 125 caps.

Meanwhile, web bookies www.extrabet.com rate him at 1-6 to start the match, 3-1 to finish it, 5-1 to score, 8-1 to score from a free-kick, 14-1 to score first and 100-1 to score a hat-trick.

Ladbrokes have Becks at 33-1 to become England’s most capped player. But the LA Galaxy midfielder has a long way to go – he trails current record holder Peter Shilton, now 58, by 26 matches. David is also a 5-1 bet to beat Bobby Moore’s 108 caps and lead the outfield players’ role of honour.

Meanwhile, Sporting Index predicts that Sky cameras will cut to Becks four times while he is sitting on the subs’ bench – and show Posh and the boys three times during the game.

And the bookies are not the only ones to enjoy a Goldenballs boom. Supermarkets have also seen demand for beer and snacks surge as armchair fans stock up.

Tesco’s Jonathan Church said: “This is more than just an average friendly. Not only does it mark the centennial cap for England’s biggest hero of the past 10 years, but it is also against traditional sporting enemy France.”
