Katie welcomes Victoria to the neighbourhood :Katie Holmes has welcomed her new best friend Victoria Beckham to Los Angeles after Posh was spotted house-hunting in the area.
Tom Cruise's bride invited Posh to the exclusive Hollywood club Sunset Marquis, where she treated her to afternoon tea and insider gossip. Katie, who received baby advice from Victoria during her pregnancy, also took along her eight-month-old daughter, Suri.
Now it was time for Katie, 27, to return the favour by giving Posh information of interest to anyone viewing properties in the area.
Also in tow was a waiter carrying a tray of drinks including a flask of tea, mineral water and champagne.
The get-together came amid mounting speculation that Tom Cruise, 44, may try to interest the Beckhams in scientology.
The former Spice Girl has been house-hunting in Los Angeles. One of those she viewed, a £7.5 million estate, is only five doors away from Mr and Mrs Cruise.
The news has fuelled reports that David Beckham may be about to quit Spain for the United States when his Real Madrid contract runs out at the end of the season.
He has said he would like to end his playing career in America, where he has set up a football academy.
The LA property, which has seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms, was one of three viewed by Victoria, 32, on Sunday. It boasts a separate guest house, tennis court, huge pool, family room, media room and a sensational kitchen.
Another benefit for the couple is that it is hidden from view by huge gates and a long drive.
Posh also looked at a Spanish-style mansion once belonging to Chris Evans and Billie Piper.
Also on the market for £7.5million, it has ocean views, five bedrooms, six bathrooms and a waterfall. The third property, with views of the city and glass walls, was a rather more modest £4 million.
The Beckhams were among several A-lister guests invited to the TomKat wedding at a castle in Italy last month.
Cruise got to know the couple through his love of soccer, and the two wives have since become friends.
