Fresh from her LA debut at the Oscars, Victoria Beckham is clearly enamoured of the city, even having dyed her brunette hair blonde to achieve the Californian look. But, while lifesize posters of her and David grace every billboard in the state, it has not all been a smooth ride.
Victoria has spoken excitedly of a new multi-million-pound deal to launch her own line of jeans, handbags and shoes. But the former Spice Girl has had some teething problems.
The 32-year-old wife of the former England skipper was hoping to be able to use her trademark rhinestone-encrusted crown on her new jeans, which will hit stores in the UK later this year.
But following a public fall-out with the boss of Rock & Republic, the label for which Victoria used to design and which owns the crown emblem, she has had to go back to the drawing board.
"This has been a huge blow for Victoria," I'm told. "She is very excited about the launch of her new jeans but she was keen to use her crown logo because it was such a success.
"Michael Ball, who owns Rock & Republic, wasn't prepared to let it go, so Victoria has had to design something else.
"It's a rather awful and wonky star-like symbol. It's no surprise she wants her crown back but Michael doesn't feel he owes Victoria anything."
Victoria's publicist denied there had been any fall-out between Mr Ball and Victoria, despite a widely reported public spat in LA, saying: "There is no dispute and Victoria had no intention of using the old-style crowns for her new collection."
