| October 7th, 2007 : Victoria met Marc Jacobs at the Louis Vuitton show. Once he saw her backsatge he got the idea of the campaign and went to see her at the Ritz hotel and asked her to be the face of his next collection. October 17th, 2007 :Victoria Beckham may have received bad press after her publicity antics during Paris Fashion Week, but she may be having the last laugh. The newly reunited singer of the Spice Girls is rumoured to be featured in the Marc Jacobs advertising campaign for next season. The eponymous ads, which are photographed by Juergen Teller, feature celebrities in paradoxical poses, often with a sense of humour. Former celebs inclue Winona Ryder (after her infamous shoplifting incident), Rachel Feinstein and Sofia Coppola.November 4th, 2007 :Victoria was out perfecting her fashionista art that day, modelling for Marc Jacobs. A source said : “He asked her to star in his spring/summer ad campaign. “She was over the moon.”November 28th, 2007 :Congratulations Victoria. | |

| Memo Pad : Posh Under the Lights
Published : Friday, November 30, 2007
POSH UNDER THE LIGHTS : Leave it to Marc Jacobs to convince a Spice Girl to go unplugged. For his hotly anticipated signature campaign for spring, Victoria Beckham put herself in front of the often harsh and unforgiving lens of Jacobs' regular lensman, Juergen Teller.
"She was a great sport. She agreed to do something rough and tough and quite raw," Jacobs said Thursday. "It wasn't days and days of hair and makeup." Confirming details about their collaboration, first reported in WWD on Oct. 17, Jacobs said the campaign depicts Beckham amid giant Marc Jacobs gift boxes and shopping bags, a sly allusion to how celebrities today are packaged and marketed like products.
In fact, Jacobs' favorite images depict Beckham popping out of a box — or her head buried in a bag, with only her legs sticking out. The designer is also quite fond of one in which she is posed next to a car, a VB logo visible on the hubcaps.
A recent front-row regular at Jacobs' shows for both his own label and Louis Vuitton, Beckham, married to soccer star David, is out to build her own lifestyle brand, dVb, with products such as sunglasses, denim and fragrance. To be sure, Jacobs is "fascinated with the cultural phenomenon of the Beckhams" and today's tabloid culture. Indeed, when he approached Beckham, he wanted to make sure she went into the project with eyes wide open. "I said, 'People are going to think this is pretty odd,'" Jacobs said, also explaining how his controversial spring collection, which included a suite of numbered dresses designed with football players' wives in mind, played with "ideas about sexuality and what that means today."
Jacobs even brought up the e-word, exploitation, to Beckham, since some accused the designer of that when he used convicted shoplifter Winona Ryder for a campaign in 2002 (he also dressed Ryder during her trial). But he was wasting his breath.
"She was like, 'I totally get it and I'm totally into it," Jacobs said. "She has an amazing sense of humor about herself .... She just gave herself over to it."

| Memo Pad : Outside the Box ... Is She Gone? ... Martha Keeps Redecorating ...
Published : Friday, January 11, 2008
OUTSIDE THE BOX : Few campaigns have been as anticipated this season as Marc Jacobs' starring Victoria Beckham. The first image, which broke in the February issue of W, partially let the cat out of the bag — it shows a giant Marc Jacobs shopping bag with Beckham's legs peeking out, with no signs of her much-photographed face.
"There was a lot of discussion about Victoria being in our ads and tons of blogs on the Internet about 'Should she or shouldn't she?,' 'What's going on with Marc Jacobs?,' and 'Has he lost his mind?'," Jacobs explained. "We thought the funniest thing would be to show the Victoria Beckham ads that don't show Victoria Beckham, but just to see those legs coming out of the bag."
Those who think they were duped after all that buzz shouldn't worry: there are many more images on their way, in February issues of Vogue and Interview.
In the Juergen Teller photos slated to appear in fashion books over the next few months, Beckham is popping her head out of the shopping bag, stepping out of a gift box, or simply posing with her best signature pout.
"The images are humorous and ironic," Beckham said. "You can't be afraid to experiment with fashion, especially when working with Marc and Juergen — you have to push the envelope and show a different side.
"Marc is a genius," she added. "I completely trusted his vision and the opportunity to work with Juergen again after so many years was a privilege."
Jacobs recalled his first meeting with Posh — a fashion designer herself — in her hotel room at the Ritz in Paris. "I told her, 'People will think it's an odd choice for me to have made, and people will think it's odd for you to do. I mean, you're not really my girl,' although I never think that I have one," he said.
"And I said, 'I like the idea of you being this product, and you being this product that Marc Jacobs producing, like a doll or something," he added. "I explained it to Juergen and he made the big shopping bag and a big box and had Victoria dressed in our clothes."
And Jacobs couldn't care less that his muse just topped Mr. Blackwell's worst-dressed list.
"Mr. Blackwell to me is this fictitious thing," he said. "I know there is a Mr. Blackwell, but it means absolutely nothing to me. It's like saying, 'What do you think of Santa Claus' list? I stopped believing in Santa Claus when I was a little kid. The idea of best-dressed and worst-dressed is so subjective. To me, the best-dressed people are the ones happiest with the way they look and how much they enjoy getting dressed. I am sure there are people on that list that have appalling taste, but it doesn't matter if it makes them happy."
Plus, he added, "Getting attention for being well-dressed or poorly dressed is great, because it is attention."
As for Beckham, she was hard-pressed to pick a favorite image from the campaign.
"Truth be told, I love them all," she said. "If I have to pick favorites, it's the package series : me coming out of the box in the gray knit dress shot with the hat, as well as the image of the oversize shopping bag. Certainly, if you can't get locked inside a Marc Jacobs store, then trapped inside a Marc bag has got to be the next best thing." -- Marc Karimzadeh Source : http://www.wwd.com/ ------------- wow M.Jacobs said the same thing as me about Blackwell list thing ( https://poramor.forumotion.com/vb-news-f5/vb-tops-mr-blackwell-s-list-of-worst-dressed-in-2007-t1429.htm )
